We are an all women team and the consultant in charge is:
Patricia Wilson FRCOG
Mrs Wilson graduated with an Honours Degree in Medicine & Surgery from the University of Birmingham.
She specialised in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and was appointed an NHS Consultant to the West Essex Group of Hospitals. She held this position for 12 years and was appointed Clinical Director of her department.
Patricia Wilson is now a private practitioner in Central London and practises at The Wellington Women’s Clinic, where she is Clinical Director and at 148 Harley Street.
Her main interests are in:-
- Infertility and early pregnancy management supported by an ultrasound service
- Colposcopy and the management of abnormal cervical smears. She runs a dedicated Colposcopy clinic and has been running this service for 20 years.
- She is a member of the BSCCP which audits and validates specialists who perform this service. She specialises in nervous patients
- Heavy periods – she has used minimally invasive techniques to control and cure heavy painful periods as a day case with the Microwave, Thermachoice balloon and Novasure device
- Urogynaecology – she is a member of the British Society of Urogynaecologists BSUG and treats stress incontinence with minimally invasive procedures after full evaluation
- General gynaecology for young women with advice on contraception, polycystic ovaries, fertility, unwanted pregnancy and STD checks
- Care of the older woman with advice on HRT, cancer screening, prolapse and Well Woman checks
Mrs Wilson has written two books on gynaecology
She has been Past President of the Section of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at the Royal Society of Medicine
She is a trustee of the London Consultants Association
She is on the Medical Advisory Committee of one of her hospitals
