The Clinic offers a Specialist Colposcopy Service led by Consultant Gynaecologist, Patricia Wilson FRCOG, who is a trained and accredited BSCCP Colposcopist.
We are an all women team with a colposcopy nurse to support you at all stages of your treatment.
The diagnosis of an abnormal smear by your GP can often cause anxiety and fear. Following a recent high profile celebrity case of cervical cancer many women are frightened that they may have cervical cancer, although this is extremely rare. Concerns about future fertility and childbearing are also uppermost in women’s minds.
The majority of cervical smear abnormalities are early stage and can be treated as an outpatient under local anaesthetic.
Our team specialises in the care of nervous patients. You will be welcomed, assessed, supported and fully informed and advised on your condition. Choices of treatment will be offered and your results discussed in detail.
You will be given follow up instructions and will be seen 2 weeks after your treatment and then six-monthly to ensure your smear has gone back to normal.
